Please note: This product is not available in our shops for viewing. Smeg’s L23LIN flueless gas fire is cool and contemporary with enough ‘wow’ factor to be become the focal point of your living room. Constructed from stainless steel and glass, the L23LIN can be hung on the wall of any room (except the bathroom) and requires no recess, hearth or chimney flue. The piezo spark makes it easy to start, and there are 3 settings (ignite, low and high), all discreetly housed on the side. How a flueless gas fire works: Flueless gas fires give you instant warmth, anywhere in the home. If you have a natural gas supply, can run a standard 8mm gas pipe to the fire installation point, plus adequate ventilation and a minimum room size (23-30 cubic metres), you can have a flueless fire installed. Using the latest gas technology, flueless fires do not require a chimney or flue to operate. Instead, combustion gases are passed through a catalytic converter system, where the carbon monoxide from the air is converted into harmless carbon dioxide. The converter works so effectively that the air coming out is cleaner that it was coming in. And because they use 100% of the gas for heat, flueless fires are far more efficient, and emit less carbon. Note: installation of these fires must be made by a GasSafe-registered engineer. 10cm clearance is needed on either side of the fire; 80cm, fire to ceiling; and 6cm, to a solid floor. Flueless fires are designed to supplement central heating and should only be used as a secondary source of heat. It should not be installed in a bathroom or bedroom.
